Information on Tap Fees & Water Resources Opportunities

Currently, our District has over 19 different tap fee schedules, based on numerous water resource agreements as well as the location of the property within our District boundaries. To find the tap fees related to your project please contact the tap sales administrator.

Tap fees are increased annually. The increase in tap fees for water is needed for the District to keep pace with increased construction costs associated with development related capital improvements including the construction of water storage along the South Platte River, and the continued development of the separate irrigation system including wells and pipelines. The good news is that with these capital investments the District, with the cooperation of the development community, has created the availability of capacity for water and wastewater service well beyond 2040.

Payments of tap fees shall be made no earlier than the date of the rough-in plumbing installation, and upon which a building permit has been issued from the City of Commerce City.

Payment of the tap fees and final meter pit inspections will be required before the City of Commerce City will issue a Certificate of Occupancy.

We also offer developers/landowners the opportunity to participate in our Phase 4a (small users) and Phase 4b (large users) ERU water resource program for development opportunities if they meet all the requirements outlined in the application. These ERUs are sold on a first come, first served basis.

If you would like current tap fee schedules, further information on our Phase 4a/4b water resources opportunities or if you have any further questions, please contact Tap Sales Administrator, Debbie Evans at 720.206.0512 or devans@sacwsd.org.
