Inspections and Locates
How to Schedule Inspections
A inspection can be requested by filling out the Inspection Request Form
Inspection requests can also be submitted by email to inspections@sacwsd.org.
Inspection cancellations must be received by email to inspections@sacwsd.org no later than 9:00 a.m. the day of the inspection. Failure to cancel and/or re-schedule an inspection is treated as a FAIL and a $250.00 re-inspection will apply.

How to Schedule a Locate
We are now a tier 1 with Colorado 811. When you contact Colorado 811 for your locate requests we will be automatically notified and a locate will be scheduled. Please call 811 or 1-800-922-1987 to request a locate.
Inspection Request Turn-Around
Inspections
Meter pit and service line inspections are completed the following day of the request not including the day the request was submitted. Inspection requests must be received before 3:00 p.m. on the day of the request to ensure following day inspection.
With the exception of emergencies, inspection of new facilities by the District or District's Representatives shall not be performed or scheduled between 3:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, nor on weekends or holidays. To schedule a inspection on a particular day, the request must be made by fax, and must be received in the District office a minimum of 48 hours prior to the needed inspection, unless there is a legitimate emergency. In the event that work is required to be performed outside the previously stated times, the District shall be contacted at least one week in advance of the required inspections to make the appropriate arrangements. If the contractor requires a inspection to be made outside of the times identified herein, a $100.00 inspection fee shall be assessed and collected prior to each "after hours" inspection.

Assessed Fees
Inspection fees are assessed when the initial inspection fails as the result of not meeting District design and construction standards and or approved materials list.
A $250 inspection fee is assessed as the result of a failed initial inspection and each re-inspection request thereafter. The fee must be paid in full prior to the work being competed by the District representative.

Penalties vary with the severity of the infraction and may result in the loss of the privilege to hold a permit with the District.
Effective January 1, 2020 the penalty for straight-piping is increased to $1,000.00 from $300.00.
District Water Theft Defined
Theft of water is considered any use of the District's water system without the consent of the District.
