Connection Fees

Information on Connection Fees
Currently, our District has over 16 different connection fee schedules, based on numerous water resource agreements as well as the location of the property within our District boundaries.

Effective January 1, 2022 our Board of Directors implemented a 4.8% increase in water and  wastewater connection fees.

The increase in connection fees for water is needed for the District to keep pace with increased construction costs associated with development related capital improvements including the construction of water storage along the South Platte River, and the continued development of the separate irrigation system including wells and pipelines. The good news is that with these capital investments the District, with the cooperation of the development community, has created the availability of capacity for water and wastewater service well beyond 2040.

Payments of connection fees shall be made no earlier than the date of the rough-in plumbing installation, and upon which a building permit has been issued from the City of Commerce City.
Payment of the connection fees and final meter pit inspections will be required before the City of Commerce City will issue a Certificate of Occupancy.
