1. What days can I water my lawn?

On April 10, 2013, the Board of Directors for South Adams County Water District adopted a resolution in response to severe drought conditions in the Metro Denver Area. The District’s annual irrigation season begins on April 15 and ends on October 15th. However, for the 2013 irrigation season, the District is asking that customers voluntarily irrigate their lawn no more than two days a week instead of three. Using the current odd/even schedule, customers may choose two of their three designated days when possible The odd/even Watering Schedule is linked below. Please choose the two days that work best for you. The Board recognizes that there may be circumstances that customers encounter where the third day may be required occasionally throughout the summer months.
The Board appreciates that the customers have overwhelmingly supported the prescribed drought measures and will continue to monitor our water supplies in hopes that further drought measures will not be required. Mandatory Watering Schedule.

2. Do I need a landscape permit to install/replace sod or seed on my property?

Yes. All properties in the District's service area that will be installing new (or replacement) landscaping must submit a completed form to the District's Conservation Programs Department. This is a fee-free service provided by the District to ensure that the customer's property has adhered to the proper landscape and soil amendment requirements that are critical to the success of a lawn or garden. 3. Where can I view the District's Water Quality Report?

4. Where can I find information regarding backflow devices and inspections?

5. What causes water hardness and what should I know about water softeners?

The District’s primary water source comes from shallow alluvial wells that have been exposed to underground mineral deposits. The hardness of the water comes from naturally occurring minerals, primarily dissolved calcium and magnesium. 7. How should I care for my trees and shrubs during dry months?

According to the Colorado State University Extension horticulture experts, watering trees and shrubs periodically during dry winter months, and during excessive heat in summer months, is highly recommended. 9. Where can I find information regarding indoor and outdoor efficient water products?

South Adams County Water and Sanitation District has partnered with WaterSense to help our customers find and select water-efficient products that can help your wallet and the environment. Visit the WaterSense site for great water saving ideas, and look for products bearing the WaterSense Label at your local retailer.

10. Does the District offer rebates for purchasing water efficient appliances?

South Adams County Water and Sanitation District (District) does not have a rebate program for purchasing high efficiency water appliances at this time. The District encourages the use of high efficiency products and water conservation practices to reduce the amount of water use, resulting in direct savings to our customers by lower consumption costs.

The District is committed to providing safe and efficient services at the lowest possible cost to its customers, which is reflected in water rates that are among the lowest in the Region.

There have been examples of rebate programs that have been offered by other municipalities that do not generate the necessary cost savings to recover the cost of the program. In these instances, the rate payers have to supplement a portion of the costs of the rebate program. The District is very concerned about implementing a program that doesn’t benefit all of our customers, but only those that are able to participate in the offered program.

12. What are my bill paying options?

The District offers several convenient methods to pay your water and wastewater bill. We accept online payments, as well as payments in person at our main office located at 6595 E. 70th Avenue.
