104th and Tower Rd. Hardness Update

Contractors will shut down the district's water line near 104th and Tower Rd. on Monday, April 24th, 2017. This line is scheduled to be out of service until June 23rd, 2017. The shut- down will not interrupt water service to customers.

Previous shutdown of this line resulted in concerns due to increased water hardness in the area of Tower and 104th. Hardness-related changes were most noticeable in the Southlawn and Parkside communities. Changes in water hardness could result in increased fixture scaling, reduced lathering of soap and spots on dishes and glassware. Customers in the area with a softening system should adjust their softener as needed due to this change.

This shut-down is necessary for water line work associated with the Tower Rd. widening project. As with any construction, the schedule is weather-dependent. The line will be turned back on earlier if potable water line improvements for the Tower Rd. Widening project are completed ahead of schedule. Any schedule changes or shut-down period extensions will be communicated promptly via this update page.
